Tour Itinerary

Johannesburg and Soweto: Half Day Tour

The tour begins with a departure from your hotel by the driver,  heading to the southwest township of Johannesburg. Take a route through Johannesburg's southern suburbs and see the sleek cars and spacious freeways.

Next, explore the cityscape of Johannesburg, characterized by its towering structures, a significant number of which were constructed during the apartheid era, as you journey towards Soweto. Witness the captivating scenery gradually fading away upon entering Soweto.

Travel past two iconic landmarks that once served as power generators in the Soweto township, now repurposed for activities such as bungee jumping. Proceed through Soweto en route to the renowned Hector Pieterson Museum, shedding light on the somber history of the youth uprising in 1976.

Continue your drive through the township for a comprehensive sightseeing experience, concluding with a visit to the Mandela House Museum on Vilakazi Street. Immerse yourself in the museum's exhibits to gain a profound understanding of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, the revered father of the nation, and a global icon.

Wrap up the tour by rejoining the tour vehicle for the return journey to your hotel. Along the way, catch a glimpse of the FNB Stadium, also recognized as Soccer City or The Calabash, which hosted the opening and closing matches of the 2010 World Cup finals.
